Revox B790, B791, B795, B291, H9
The Ortofon VinylMaster Silver (formerly Ortofon 540 MK II) cartridge systems are discontinued!
To be able to offer you first-class cartridges, we contacted Clearaudio. We already had good relationships with them, and they immediately agreed to adapt their systems for Revox turntables. This allowed us to bring one of the world's best system manufacturers on board with Revox. Last but not least, the high tonal quality of the cartridges convinced us.
The foundation is laid by the deep, precise bass, clear and dry, culminating in the very finely resolved highs, crystal clear, always present, but never exaggerated or even annoying. The mids are very clearly audible, voices carry the air, choirs dissolve into individual voices, and you can even count the voices (if you want). The gradation of the systems is also very audible. It makes a difference whether you buy a system for €80, €300, €500, or even €1,000! Anyone familiar with the Shure V 15 V will love the V2 series.
We are thrilled with the quality of the systems!
All Clearaudio systems convey pure joy of playing!
The purpose is:
Music playback from records in the highest quality, whether rock, pop, classical, blues, jazz...
...every style of music, every genre is fun with the Clearaudio V2 series!
Clearaudio
Artist V2
definitely comparable to the Shure V 15 V. Although I do think that the highs on the Artist are a bit more resolved, that's subjective and there won't be a new Shure V 15!
the change
To ensure the Clearaudio systems fit, the threaded holes must be replaced with simple holes and countersunk holes must be made for the screw heads. This is the only way to mount the systems from below, as intended by Revox.
Concept V2
The entry-level V2 series for price-conscious lovers of unadulterated music enjoyment.
As already described above, slight losses in resolution have to be accepted.
Charisma V2
A relatively new system, it marks the new pinnacle of V2 systems. We didn't expect to hear any differences to the Maestro V2, but we were proven wrong! Even finer, even more precise, even a bit closer to High end!
The installation
Montage
The assembly is carried out according to the specifications of Revox and the cartridge manufacturer Clearaudio.
We only use the original Revox gauge and adjust the horizontal and vertical alignment accordingly.
A steady hand
These tasks should only be performed by trained personnel. The tonearm's mechanism is very sensitive!
The technician needs a lot of sensitivity!
Artist V2
Only when everything is set up correctly will you achieve the best quality and perfect listening pleasure!
The /- 1 mm tolerance specified by Revox for the height is too high! We recommend a maximum tolerance of /- 0.5 mm. All systems immediately experience distortion, which is noticeable in sharp and loud highs!
Expansion
Turn the turntable upside down and place it on a stack of books on the left. The stack should not exceed 55 mm in height. If you exceed 55 mm, the weight will shift to the outside of the tonearm, far away from the support. This will subject the tonearm to significant and unnecessary stress. It's better to stay a few mm below 55 mm, so the weight will be above the tonearm support.
Carefully disconnect the cartridge connectors using tweezers. Loosen the two cartridge mounting screws and remove the cartridge.Always work extremely carefully!
