To change the speed or equalization, you always need two circuit boards for recording and two circuit boards for playback. If you're "just" repairing, the circuit boards should be replaced in pairs. So, you need two recordings or two playbacks.
As with Studer's A101 hybrid amplifier module, SMD technology is clearly an advantage here too.

Slots for equalization are provided on the circuit boards of the recording 1.080.982 and the playback 1.080.986. Four equalization circuit boards are required for the Studer A80.
The coding is done through a slot in the recording and playback circuit boards
Coding
The original Studer equalization boards were coded using a pressed-in pin. We will only leave the appropriate opening free and color-code the other opening (red for the recording equalization and green for the playback equalization). The circuit boards are too small to label the type of equalization and its speed.
Installation
If the free hole on the equalizer board and the slotted hole on the Studer recording or playback board are aligned, the combination is correct. The color scheme (green for playback and red for recording) should also match.
Shipment
The circuit boards are also shipped in labeled ESD bags with the equalization, speed and Studer article number.
This should prevent any confusion even years from now!

Repair kits
We offer a variety of repair kits for the Studer A80 and B62, including a comprehensive range of useful repair kits. These include complete audio relay kits, replacement kits for the record and playback boards, and repair kits for the audio cards and drive controls. capacitors
In addition to the equalization, the hybrid amplifier module and all electrolytic capacitors were also replaced. The components should always be replaced on both Record (1.080.982) or, as shown in the photo, on both Reproduce (1.080.986) circuit boards.
Repair kit
Here, all electrolytic capacitors, transistors, the equalization board, the hybrid amplifier, and the relay were replaced. This is a complete overhaul for us!
A "refurbished by the seller" circuit board is now being offered on eBay for €333. In fact, only the relay was replaced!
