Contact spring
for Revox push and rotary switches
Since the contact springs for the push and rotary switches of various Revox devices were no longer available, we decided to have them reproduced. The tooling costs for these are also exorbitantly high! We spread the tooling costs over 10,000 of these contact springs. Anything else makes no sense!
Why do we at Premium-Hifi do this?
We at Premium-Hifi are committed to preserving Revox's vintage treasures in the best possible quality and as close to the original as possible! To achieve this, the switches must function properly and reliably. Even the oft-cited bending of the contact springs only helps temporarily and is not a permanent solution.
At Premium-Hifi, we have the spring contacts reproduced from phosphor bronze. This alloy ensures the durable spring action and thus the longevity of the contact point. Additionally, all spring contacts are hard gold-plated. This eliminates the risk of oxidation!
Before you can get to the switches, a lot of assembly work is required!
Copper contact springs are also available online—of course, for a reasonable price. Copper doesn't retain its spring action for long, and even repeated bending doesn't help. It also lacks the protective gold plating, so after a few years, the contacts develop verdigris. After a short time, the contact problems recur, and you have to disassemble the entire device again, which is a time-consuming process.
slide switch
Not only the rotary switches on the Revox A77 and A78 require these contact springs. The push buttons and buttons for the drive control on the A77, A700, A722, etc. also use the contact springs presented here.
new contact springs for many old Studer and Revox treasures
Only we at Premium-Hifi use the original alloy (phosphor bronze) and the protective gold plating of the original contact springs of Studer and Revox devices.
Made in Germany
The high quality and the selected materials come at a price.
35% of the costs are for the precisely manufactured tool (based on 10,000 pieces).
But your device shouldn't be worth less than that! How often do you replace the contact springs?

The Revox A77 is also operated via buttons with one or two contact springs. These contact springs must not be forgotten during an overhaul!
