new brake bands

Original brake bands have been discontinued for a long time! To get replacements, we had to collect the old brake bands from the customer and send them to the manufacturer to have them reconditioned.
The procedure only pleased the post office and was not customer-friendly!
We spent a very long time developing this and discarded numerous samples. This requires not only precise work, but also the quality of the materials and the braking surface must be exactly right.
The tool for the tongues also had to be newly developed and manufactured.
The first announcement and the first samples were presented here over a year ago.
Packaging

for transport and storage

special packaging

The brake bands must not be bent under any circumstances. To ensure that nothing happens during transport and storage, the brake bands are individually packaged in a special box.

worn brake bands

Unfortunately, reflective surfaces are difficult to photograph.
The old brake bands have become polished to a mirror finish over the years. Their braking effect is almost nonexistent. This leads to loops forming, resulting in stretched or even torn bands.

old brake band

If you look closely, you can still see the structure of the braking surface. The coating that increases friction between the brake band and the brake drum has completely disappeared. The worn brake band is as smooth as glass and no longer has any braking effect. This, in turn, can destroy the tape material and your music!

Here you can see the coating of the new brake bands at approximately the same magnification as before. We at revox-online suspect that the coating is made of bauxite. We know why we have revox-online reproduce the brake bands!
