Why do Revox transformers tend to hum?Well, many amplifiers from other manufacturers don't even get old enough for the transformers to start humming!The amplifiers Studer A68, Revox A740, and Revox B740 are partly over 50 years old.The cut-band transformers used by Revox are excellent for audio applications. However, toroidal transformers are still the better choice in the audio field. Toroidal transformers offer comparatively high efficiency, which is especially important here, while being compact and producing a very low stray field. Whatever the reason for the humming of transformers, we can help!
Installation in Revox A740, B740 and Studer A68

Here, too, the old transformer of the Studer A68 or Revox A740, B740 power amplifiers must first be removed.

Comparison
The old transformer is also a real beast!
Both transformers are suitable as additional weights for sports equipment, but they're too expensive and a waste for that purpose! The weight and size are roughly the same. At 850 VA, they provide plenty of power.

Since there is very little clearance in the Revox A740 or B740 as well as in the Studer A68, you should determine the exact position with the transformer and mark the position of the drill hole.
