Distance extension
of the RCA sockets
Spacing extension from 11 mm to 15 mm
A tiresome topic!
The sockets on many Revox devices are far too narrow and only the old Revox cables will actually fit. Then there are the cheap metal sockets and plugs that were used in the past! These often make no or poor contact and the contact resistance is far too high! We don't believe in cable voodoo, but this can have a negative and audible effect on the sound.
You want to use high-quality cinch cables with equally high-quality cinch plugs and then realise that the cables cannot be connected to many Revox devices. At 11 mm, the distance between the RCA sockets is far too small and you still have the sometimes heavily oxidised metal sockets!
Only we offer high-quality gold-plated RCA sockets with a spacing of 15 mm. This means you can use all cinch cables available on the market and don't have to make any compromises.
Hard gold-plated RCA sockets
New and old
We only use high-quality, hard gold-plated RCA sockets. The new RCA sockets with 15 mm spacing and the original Revox RCA sockets with only 11 mm spacing.
You can only see the difference in a direct comparison!
Revox B750
with new cinch sockets with extended spacing. Yes, filing is required here. Anyone who goes to the trouble of opening the device, drilling out the rivets and re-soldering the wires should no longer be afraid of a little filing and accept it!
It is a huge gain in convenience if you can really use all cinch cables and cinch plugs!
The advantage
With a 15 mm gap between the RCA sockets, even the really good plugs will fit.
On the left are the Neutrik (revox-compatible) plugs, on the right are the high-quality Neutrik RCA plugs.
These and similar RCA plugs from WBT and Co. only fit with us!
Revox A78
The RCA sockets with extended spacing also fit 100% on the Revox A78. Of course, a larger spacing also requires more space. However, this is one of the easiest exercises given all the work that has to be done.
You can clearly see the 15 mm here too!
Revox A77
with new cinch sockets.
Here, too, you have to file. We only offer our extension with black solder resist.
You will receive screws and nuts for fastening.
Ground planes
The ground plane first serves as shielding. Neighbouring PCBs can then also be connected quickly.
old ground planes
With the original Revox RCA sockets, metal sheets were used as an earthing surface. With us, you always have the full shielding effect.
You can create the desired connection between the circuit boards using simple solder bridges!
Mass again
Another variant of the ground plane.
Our ground planes allow you to make the right connection very quickly and easily. Shielding is always guaranteed!
Revox B77
If you make this effort - you don't have to be afraid of filing. It takes a lot of work to get it looking like this!
Version 2012
The old version with modified ground plane and still without solder resist.
In 2012 we were still trading under the name
revox-band machine
It's been that long!
High quality
We also offer the high-quality cinch sockets for sale without a circuit board.
Without large spacing
If you only want to use better RCA sockets and can do without a larger spacing. All you have to do is remove the old cinch sockets, drill out the holes and then fit the new cinch sockets!
