High-end record PCB
for all Studer Revox B77

1.177.239-22 New development
Here, too, many things have been improved.
The basic circuit has remained the same; there's nothing to improve. The operating points of the transistor stages are already optimally adjusted, and the gain and equalization are also fine! However, we've also improved the voltage blocking and filtering, using star-shaped supply lines, 70 µm thick and wide conductor tracks, eliminating electrolytic capacitors in the signal path, and so on.
the technology

only slightly but effectively refined

Equalization

Two additional modules ensure the correct equalization of the recording board. The new recording board fits all Revox B77s (SLS, LS, Std, HS NAB, and HS IEC). Each recording board always comes with two equalization boards. You can order additional equalization boards from us at any time.

No electrolytic capacitors

It is always remarkable that we do without electrolytic capacitors and the circuit board has more components than ever before!
As always, we prefer not to use electrolytic capacitors in the signal path. Electrolytic capacitors are slow-acting and tend to swallow up the smallest, subtlest aspects of the musical event that make up the music.

Buffering the voltage

The voltage is buffered and blocked individually for each amplifier stage and each channel. Additionally, the collector resistor of the first stage was split and buffered again. The additional effort is considerable!
The separate buffering of the individual amplifier stages leads to a better, much finer resolution.

Bypasses

Although we at Premium-Hifi only use high-quality electrolytic capacitors from Panasonic, all of our electrolytic capacitors are also equipped with bypass capacitors. Many are additional capacitors and serve to separately buffer the operating voltage. We completely forgo electrolytic capacitors up to 22µF!

LED display

A yellow LED indicates the audio signal is enabled, and another green LED indicates the presence of operating voltage. The mute and muting circuit is located directly on the circuit board, rather than on an additional board.

Y-REC

The "Y-REC" switching signal isn't always present on the circuit board, but it's always required on our circuit. Using the included yellow wire, you can easily make the missing connection..

Comparison

You will receive detailed installation and alignment instructions. We will be following the Studer and Revox specifications for the B77 and PR99 for the alignment. For alignment, you will need the appropriate tools, some experience, and reference tapes for both speeds.

 variable capacitor

We installed the variable capacitor for the bias trap with an additional circuit board in the position of the previous tunable inductor. This variable capacitor could have been mounted directly on the circuit board. This would have made access more difficult and would no longer be in the intended position.
At Premium-Hifi we pay attention to every little detail!

Furthermore, the traces on our circuit boards are particularly wide and 70 µm thick. This is intended to prevent losses, even if they are minimal. A star-shaped routing of the supply voltage was not possible for us, but we did separate the voltage and ground for the right and left channels.

Once again, we've utilized every technical possibility to ensure the audio signal is transmitted as accurately as possible and without distortion. Even though the tape is the biggest limitation, the electronics don't need to degrade the signal even further!

if you want the best!
